Almost everyone experiences some level of stress over their weight. For some of us this takes the form of mild frustration over the inability to keep 4 or 5 pounds off and mild annoyance over not being able to eat the foods we really like without guilt and negative consequences. For others excess body weight is a constant source of emotional pain. Many of us are weighed down by insecurities and sadness over the condition of our body almost all of the time. Even people with “perfect” bodies are almost always trapped in the weight loss game in some way – constantly having to worry about what they’re eating, workouts, etc….

This is the weight loss game – the endless pursuit of building and keeping a body that is “thin enough” (who sets this standard anyway?) in a world that seems to make this virtually impossible to do without some form of sacrifice. Most weight loss books, articles, and courses offer you strategies to help you win the weight loss game. This supposedly occurs when you reach and maintain a certain goal weight. This course is different. It’s designed to help you end the weight loss game forever. Read More-

There is a reason that so many smart, decent, otherwise capable people struggle so valiantly to get and stay thin. It’s because the weight loss game is a game you can’t really win if you play it by the rules. It’s a game that our bodies and minds are designed to fail at. The only real way to win the game is to learn to play outside its rules and end it forever. That’s what you’ll learn to do in this course.

Ending the Weight Loss Game is taught in 3 modules over 12 sessions. The first module deals with the body. You’ll learn about how fat actually gets burned (there are a lot of hoops fat has to jump through!) and how every step in this process can stop you from losing weight no matter how hard you try and keep you locked in the weight loss game. You’ll come to see your body in a whole new light. You’ll understand how it works in a simple, practical way and you’ll learn how to eat healthfully and exercise effectively without fighting or forcing yourself. With just the information in this module you’ll be well on your way to freedom from the weight loss game.

The second module deals with the mind. You’ll learn about why your own mind seems determined to knock you off track so much of the time. What are those cravings you can’t control? What is that voice in your head that tells you to eat cookies instead of go to the gym? Can you turn it off? Yes! As you come to understand how your mind works you’ll be able to deal with cravings, appetites, and impulses before they take you over and make you do things you don’t want to do. Imagine what your life would be like if you could deal easily and rapidly with your conflicting desires around food and exercise!

The third module of Ending the Weight Loss Game addresses what we could call the “spiritual” dimension of weight loss. If you’re not comfortable with the word “spirit” think of it as the emotional side. We’ll look at emotions in a new way and tackle some of the “big questions” of life like what is happiness, what is self acceptance, and who, really, are we? This might not strike you as relevant to a course on weight loss, but consider this – when do you find it hardest to eat well and exercise? If you’re like most people it’s when you’re experiencing some sort of negative emotion. Stress, a sense of overwhelm, loneliness, heartbreak, frustration – all of these can send us straight for the Ben and Jerry’s!

When we’re feeling great about ourselves and our lives it’s easy to eat well and exercise. When we’re not doughnuts, pizza, or chocolate can seem like “the answer” (we’ve all been there!). Understanding how your emotions work will help you end the weight loss game once and for all. Understanding emotions requires us to take a look at who we really are because our emotions define our relationship with ourselves. This part of the course will pay dividends well beyond helping you lose weight. It will help you gain a sense of peace and security that will stay with you.

This is what Ending the Weight Loss Game is really all about. You’re free from the game once you know that you’ll never feel insecure about your body again. You’ll find a body weight that is comfortable for you and maintain it. You may gain 5 or even 10 pounds here or there, but you’ll be confident in your ability to take it back off. Better, your mood, your inner peace, and your sense of self won’t depend on what the scale says anymore.

Ending the Weight Loss Game starts Wednesday April 20th at 8pm. Class meet every Wednesday for 4 weeks through May 11th. From May 11th to June 8th you’ll take a break from class to apply what you’ve learned. You’ll receive weekly emails with menus, recipes, workouts, and motivational content. Class starts back up Wednesday on June 8th, and meets for four consecutive Wednesdays from June 8th through June 30th. This completes Module 2. Class then resumes July 6th and meets July 6th, 13th, 20th, and concludes on July 27th. All of the live conference calls are recorded and you’ll get a username and password that will let you download or stream the audio of each class from a secure website. Beyond the lectures there are tons of support notes, additional audio downloads, and other benefits.
